Greentech Renewables takes cybersecurity very seriously, and we want to inform you of recent threats we have identified.

Incident Description

Our Cyber Security team recently detected newly registered domain names that attempt to impersonate our GreentechRenewables.com domain to perpetrate fraud. We have made efforts to report this to the authorities in an effort to take down the offending domain.

Often threat actors do this to have customers change payables remittance information in an attempt to have them send money to the perpetrator's bank account rather than to a Greentech Renewables lockbox or Credit Office. Another approach has perpetrators attempting to have suppliers ship material to an unauthorized location using counterfeit orders.

  2. Never trust wiring instructions sent via email. Fraudulent activity by email is an ever-present danger and these emails are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Always confirm wiring instructions in person or via a telephone call to a trusted and verified phone number. NEVER wire money without double-checking that the wiring instructions are correct.
  3. Inform your employees to not respond to, click on links, or download attachments if they receive any emails from any of these fraudulent domains. Legitimate emails will come from @greentechrenewables.com.
