Solar Incentives in Delaware
The State of Delaware offers the SREC Delaware Program for commercial businesses and ag producers to sell solar renewable energy credits to Delmarva Power so it can meet state mandated renewable energy goals. One SREC is generated for every megawatt hour (MWh), or 1,000 kilowatt hours (kWh), of electricity generated by your solar system.
Delmarva Power, Delaware Electric Cooperative, and Delaware Municipal Electric Corporation commercial customers can apply for their utility's renewable energy rebate program to help offset the cost of installing renewable energy systems, including solar systems.
Delaware's net metering program is available to any customer who generates electricity with their solar system. Through this program, you can receive credit for any excess energy your business' solar panels generate to use towards future utility bills, which significantly reduces or even eliminates your monthly bill if your system generates enough energy.

Delaware has several incentives available that can reduce the cost of installing a commercial solar system. Yet, none as significant as the USDA's REAP grant. This 50% rebate on your solar energy system is one of the best incentives offered in the history of the solar industry, so take advantage of the REAP rant while it is still available.
