Solar Incentives in Minnesota
The Rural Finance Authority in Minnesota established the Agricultural Improvement Loan Program. Participation is limited to 45% of the principal amount of the loan or to a maximum of $500,000. Terms for the remainder of the loan are negotiated between the participant and the lender.
In Minnesota, business owners qualify for a sales tax exemption. That means if a business purchased a system for $100,000 it would save $6,880 in taxes.
Minnesotans are exempt from paying property taxes on the value added to their property after installing a qualifying renewable home energy system. Your local assessor will automatically exclude the value of your solar energy system when determining the value of your property for tax purposes.
