Solar Incentives in Arkansas
The Arkansas net metering policy allows commercial businesses to receive credits for excess energy that their solar system produces. Solar systems with a capacity up to 25 kilowatts (kW) are eligible for net metering at a rate of 1.5% of a utility's retail sales from the previous year. Credits can be applied to future utility bills to alleviate energy costs.
Some Arkansas districts offer the Property-Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) financing program, which allows commercial property owners to borrow money to pay for energy improvements and repay the borrowed money through property taxes based on a property value assessment.
The business Energy Investment Tax Credit program allows Arkansas businesses to claim 30% of their solar system costs as a federal tax credit. Additional tax credits are available depending on the district.

Arkansas currently does not offer any state tax credits or rebates for commercial businesses to reduce solar system costs. However, the 50% REAP rebate on your solar energy system is available in AR, and is one of the best incentives offered in the history of the solar industry. Take advantage of the USDA's REAP Grant while it is still available. Fill out our interest form to get started!
